Channel Letters

Your guide for Channel Letters

The superior choice for building signs.

Channel letters are one of the most cost effective methods of advertising your business and capturing a potential customer’s attention 24 hours a day.

These signs can be produced in almost any font, color, size and style. This flexibility allows us to create a sign that will match your company’s branding and help you stand apart from your competition.

The Construction

What makes a channel letter?

Channel letters are constructed of metal and/or plastic and are by far the most commonly used exterior sign style for businesses. Our channel letters are created by cutting our the back of the letter using a computer controlled router out of either aluminum or acrylic, depending on the style chosen.

To make the sides of the letters, another machine takes three to six inch wide rolls of aluminum and bends it to form the correct shape. The two pieces are then joined together. The front of the letter can be made of either solid aluminum (for reverse lighted letters) or a translucent plastic for light to shine through.

Front Lighted Channel Letters

Make a statement.

Front lighted channel letters are by far the most common choice for business signage. These types of signs emit their light from only the acrylic front (also known as the face) of the letters. They are typically mounted directly to the building or on a raceway or wireway. A raceway or wireway is a rectangular enclosure behind the letters that house the sign’s electrical components. Raceway mounting is sometimes required by property owners as fewer holes are drilled into the building.

All of our business signs are lighted with energy efficient, low voltage LED modules. The lightweight design of an LED module virtually eliminates breakage and lowers maintenance costs by not requiring the installation of new bulbs (for fluorescent lights) or new power ballasts (for neon lights).

Reverse “Halo” Lighted Channel Letters

For a softer, classier look.

Reverse lighted, also known as “halo lit” channel letters are illuminated through the back of the letter instead of the front. Unlike the standard front lighted letters, these must be mounted away from the wall, typically two to three inches, in order to create the proper halo effect.

The inside of these letters are usually painted white or with a reflective color that will allow as much light as possible to bounce off of the inside of the letter and onto the wall.

Color Changing RGB Lighting

Don’t stick with just one color!

Why stick with just one color when you can continuously change the color of your sign? In place of traditional white LED lighting, we can use RGB lights that can create virtually any color imaginable!

Each sign that contains RGB color changing lights will also come with a remote control that allows you to choose the pattern and colors that you want. Rotate between red, blue and green for Christmas, pink for Valentine’s Day or cycle through every color for an eye-catching display! We can even retrofit existing signs with RGB color changing lights!

Sign Repair & Retrofits

We can make your sign look almost brand new!

The use of neon lighting in signs has been around for nearly a century. It’s an established technology but does suffer from many drawbacks. Neon signs typically use 5 to 10 times more power than their LED counterparts. Neon tubes need to have their gases periodically refilled, can easily be broken and tend to dull in brightness over time.

We can take your existing sign and upgrade the lighting to energy-efficient and environmentally friendly LED lighting. Not only will this lower your electricity bill, but you will save even more money in the long run by not requiring constant maintenance and repair.
